The American troops had to fight their way up this hill.

On top of the cliffs at Arromanches-les-Bains. There was a German radar site here. Part of the Gold Beach landing,

it was crucial for creating one of the artificial harbors known as Mulberry Harbours to be used by the Allies

The visitor center at Juno beach where Canadian troops landed.
